Jersey Dairy continues to win awards in this year’s round of agricultural shows. At the recent Great Yorkshire Show we picked up 8 awards including a first for our Pasteurised Whole Milk and a second for our new Marks & Spencer Salted Butter. Our new cheese, Lé Fronmage Mature was class winner for a semi-hard cheese at the World Jersey Cheese Show and we also won The Best Use of the Jersey Brand. At the recent Royal Bath & West Show we collected golds for our Luxury Natural Yogurt and the three Luxury Fruit Yogurts. We are also supplying Jersey Butter to Marks & Spencer to complement the Jersey Royals and in most outlets these two famous Jersey products can be found merchandised together. June has also seen the lauch of a real Jersey Dairy Soft Mix ice cream which is available throughout Jersey and for export. For all these stories and more see our press statements at the end of the homepage. Our application for Protected Designation of Origin status with the European Commission for Jersey Butter progresses well. The process is now in public consultation. Islanders are rightly proud of the Jersey cow and the products made from her milk and cream. In fact we can say with confidence that all Jersey’s range of dairy products is made from pure Jersey Milk, from Jersey Cows in Jersey. Not only that but we are the home of the world famous Jersey breed. From this queen of dairy cows we make superior Jersey Cream, rich, luxurious Jersey Yogurts, Jersey Butter with a beautiful golden hue and Jersey Crème Fraîche that needs tasting to fully appreciate.
Jersey Dairy and the farmers that make up our cooperative can boast all the traditions of good animal care and high quality milk that customers value so much. As we continue to invest in the future of the dairy industry we hope to build our new headquarters on a brownfield site at the southern end of the Howard Davis Farm site in Trinity. Not only will it be a dairy, and as such the headquarters of the cooperative, but also a visitor centre where people can learn about our industry. It will also be adjacent to the headquarters of the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society, which is responsible for the development of the Jersey breed of cow. |
